Description
Turtle Dove Shawl — Texture Shawl Project Class
Confidence with Knitting Texture
If you’ve ever looked at textured knitting and thought, “I love that—but I’m not sure I can do it,” this class was built for you.
The Turtle Dove Shawl is a project-based knitting class designed to help you build confidence with texture, cables, and chart reading—with structure and support. We’ll take a calm, guided approach to understanding how charts work, how cables flow, and how texture develops row by row.
This is not about finishing a shawl in class.
It’s about leaving with clarity, confidence, and a strong start.
What You’ll Learn
(Head this section with a subtle banner or divider if desired)
Texture with structure
- How texture develops over rows and why it works
Cables that flow
- How cables are worked from charts (no memorization required)
Charts you can read
- How to follow knitting charts step by step with confidence
Skill support
- Make 1 increases (M1L / M1R) using mnemonic support
- Bobbles: what they are, how they’re formed, and what to expect
Who This Class Is For
- Advanced beginners and intermediate knitters
- Knitters ready to step beyond basic knitting
- Anyone who has said:
- “Charts scare me”
- “Cables look complicated”
- “I want to try something new—but not alone”
This is not a beginner class.
Advanced knitters are welcome for refinement and confidence reinforcement.
What This Class Is (and Is Not)
This class IS:
- A supported start into knitting texture
- A confidence-building project class
- Focused on understanding, not perfection
- Designed so you can continue successfully after class
This class is NOT:
- A finish-in-class project
- A cable encyclopedia
- A test of speed or mastery
Continued Support (Value Callout)
This class includes one month of continued support during:
- Open Crafting
- Fix-It Friday
Bring your shawl back before frustration sets in—we’ll help you keep moving forward.
(This section pairs beautifully with a small banner or shaded box.)
Materials & Preparation
