Beginning Knitting

This class is for the beginning knitter, if your confidence is not where you want it to be or you’ve never knit, purl, cast on or off. This Face Cloth is a small project to build confidence and skills. The finished product is also a great treat for yourself or gift giving. We will start with stitches already cast on, so you become familiar with the knit and purl stitches. When you are ready, we’ll cast on to your own needles and continue until you build confidence. Help is available Thursday nights 4-8 pm to grow your confidence, fix mistakes and build in success. Your second class will continue in that same vein and make sure you gain the skills to cast off that project, maybe even start another.

Instructor Bio:

Ellen Drechsler is a Certified Knitting Instructor by the Craft Yarn Council of America. She has taught knitting classes as well as published her own original designs in books and magazines. A lifelong knitter who was taught originally by her mother at an early age, she also credits a coworker in the 80’s for inspiring her to take up the craft again which led her to knit her first sweater in the round. Her favorite things to knit are original designs for her two adorable grandchildren. Find Ellen on Ravelry as Slipsister3.
